One man dead in Leominster wreck

LEOMINSTER – A man died Friday morning after the car he was driving entered the median in front of 482 North Main St. (Route 12) and struck a pole head-on, according to police Lt. Michael Ciccolini.

The man, whom police have not publicly identified, was pronounced deceased in the emergency room of nearby HealthAlliance Hospital — Leominster Campus.

Officers responded to the single-vehicle crash just before 2 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation. The Leominster police detective bureau is investigating circumstances before the accident. The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and district attorneys office are also investigating.
