Richard C. Foster Sr., 72

Richard C. Foster, Sr., 72, of Worcester, passed away Wed., Aug. 1, at home. His wife of 44 years, Joan Cecile (Kokernak) Foster died in 2005.

He leaves four children, Sharon Lee Foster of Newport, RI, Richard Charles Foster, Jr. of Hoschton, GA, Roger Henry Foster of Worcester and Melissa Foster Borges of Worcester; two grand-daughters, Leanna Borges and Amber Borges; a sister, Judith Foster Pytko of Oxford and nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Nancy Sanderson of Virginia and Patricia Pytko of Rhode Island predeceased him.

He was born in Millbury, son of Roger Lincoln and Sarah Hannah (Beatty) Foster. He graduated from Cole Trade School and served in the Army, stationed in Germany. Richard was the manager at Tatnuck Country Club for several years. In his younger years, he was a lifeguard at Green Hill Beach in Rhode Island.

Visiting Hours will be held Tues., Aug. 7, from 5 to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30PM at Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private.
